Warranty & Finish Care Policy

At Margot Georgia Jewellery, we take pride in the quality of our pieces. Each item is carefully inspected before shipping. Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a product does not meet acceptable quality but it’s not a major failure, you are entitled to have it repaired or replaced.

1) What this policy covers

1.1 Your Consumer Law Rights

This Warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the ACL and any other applicable laws.

1.2 Manufacturer Warranty (all jewellery)


Period: 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase.


What it covers: faults in materials and workmanship (e.g., defective components, faulty clasps/chains, loose stones/settings caused by a manufacturing defect).


Remedies: at our discretion we will repair, replace, or refund (full or partial) the defective item.

Your ACL rights may extend beyond this period.

1.3 Finish Care Coverage (material-specific)

Finish Care is support for unusual/premature colour loss under normal wear within the timeframes below. It is coverage, not a guarantee of lifespan. Remedies may include re-plating, replacement, or store credit at our discretion.


14K Gold-Filled12 months

Water-safe for daily wear. Rinse after ocean/pool. Avoid chlorine/hot tubs, perfume and harsh cleaners.


18K Gold Vermeil (≥2.5 µm over 925 sterling silver)12 months

Splash-safe; avoid swimming and heavy abrasion. Keep away from perfume, sunscreen, chlorine and harsh cleaners. Wipe after wear and store separately.


18K Gold-Plated (1.0 µm)6 months

Splash-safe only; avoid showering, swimming, exercise/sweat, perfume and friction to preserve colour.


925 Sterling Silver (solid)No finish coverage (not plated).

Water-safe; natural tarnish/patina may occur and is not a defect. Dry after water and polish with a soft cloth or silver wipe. Store in an airtight pouch.


14K/18K Solid Gold (no plating)No finish coverage (colour is inherent to the metal).

Water-safe; avoid chlorine/hot tubs and harsh chemicals. Periodically check stone settings.

If necessary parts or finishes are unavailable or discontinued, we may use an equivalent alternative.

2) How to make a warranty/finish-care claim

Please contact us as soon as you notice an issue:


Email: support@margotgeorgia.com (include order number, product name/URL, a description of the issue and clear photos/video).


If requested, return the item with original packaging/parts/accessories and any additional information needed to assess your claim.


Claims may be assessed by an independent jewellery specialist.

3) What’s not covered (exclusions)

Some jewellery is delicate and must be handled with care (see our Care Instructions). This policy does not cover:


Normal wear and tear (including micro-scratches, patina, misshaping from impact/pressure).


Natural colour change/wear of plating outside the Finish Care terms, or any colour change caused by chemicals, cosmetics, perfume, sunscreen, detergents, chlorine, saltwater, humidity, sulphur, or abrasion/friction (e.g., stacked rings rubbing).


Damage from misuse, accidents, impacts, snagging or crushing; continued use of a defective item; or failure to follow care instructions.


Loss, theft, or unauthorised repairs/resizing/alterations.


Failure to notify us of the defect within a reasonable time after it is discovered.


Events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters or unforeseen external events).

Additional services outside warranty/finish care may incur charges, which we will confirm before proceeding.

4) Earrings (hygiene)

For hygiene reasons we do not accept change-of-mind returns on earrings. Faulty earrings are covered under this policy and the ACL.

5) General terms


“We/Us/Our” means Margot Georgia Jewellery (ABN 80362686141).


“You/Your” means the purchaser of our products.


“Products” means jewellery purchased from Margot Georgia Jewellery.


“Supplier” means an authorised distributor or retailer of our products in Australia.


This Warranty forms part of our Terms & Conditions and Returns Policy and applies within Australia under the laws of New South Wales.


If there is any inconsistency between this Warranty and our Terms & Conditions, the Terms & Conditions prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
